Anna Brennan, Miss Owatonna, joins the Miss Minnesota Class of 2024 ready to continue her mission of leading, serving, and inspiring. A full-time student, artist, leader, and ‘anti-technology’ advocate, she works every day to live life to the fullest while encouraging others to do the same. Graduating from Byron High School in May of 2024, she is enjoying her last semester as a full-time PSEO student at the University of Northwestern St. Paul. Brennan plans to study journalism, communications, and political science this fall as a freshman at The University of St. Thomas. She plans to become a political analyst for a major news network and has ambitions to work on election campaigns as a media strategist.
With a knack for social media and personal branding, Anna has become experienced in the realm of managing a large following online while taking care of her mental health. Growing up in the digital age, she experienced firsthand how social media and technology can negatively affect people. In 2023 she began her CSI, SHI: The Social Health Initiative. Using her own life experiences as guidance, she uses this social platform to teach her social media following about technology addiction and how they can use their devices and social media correctly. She reaches thousands of people every day with her message and is excited to expand her impact within the Miss Minnesota Organization and through her future career.
Brennan’s talent for the Miss Minnesota stage is classical ballet. She began dancing at 2 years old and has been training professionally since the age of 13, attending summer programs at the world-renowned Alonzo King Lines Ballet and Ballet West, and performing in over 40 stage productions. Training year-round in Southern Minnesota in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary dance, she also instructs ballet for beginning dancers and has choreographed and participated in national ballet competitions since 2020. Brennan is excited to continue dancing, teaching, and choreographing in the metro area this fall as she begins her journey living in St. Paul.
As Miss Owatonna, Anna has enjoyed the opportunity to serve a new community as she is dedicated to community service and civil engagement. Throughout her high school career, she participated in multiple leadership positions that have prepared her to represent the Owatonna community with dignity and grace. From serving Southern Minnesota as the Region VIII FFA Secretary to working on her local Youth Commission, her passion for service and civil engagement has helped her gain perspective on the importance of quality leadership. Anna looks forward to continuing to embody this throughout her year of service to Owatonna.
